Frequently asked questions
Can the results be used as a diagnosis?
No. All scales here are screening tools: they reflect the level of symptoms or states within a time window to guide whether a professional assessment is worthwhile. Diagnosis can only be made by a clinician.
Are my answers uploaded anywhere?
Never. Answers, scores and history live only in your browser's localStorage; clearing browser data removes them for good. The optional anonymous statistic uploads only your severity band — nothing personal.
How often should I take a check?
For symptom scales (PHQ-9, GAD-7, ISI), wait at least two weeks between attempts; the WHO-5 works well as a monthly well-being tracker. Retesting within days mostly measures daily noise.
At what score should I see a professional?
A rough rule: PHQ-9 or GAD-7 at 10+ warrants an assessment and 15+ warrants prompt care; ISI above 15 and WHO-5 below 50 also deserve attention. Always follow the band guidance on your result page.
Are these scales trustworthy?
All six scales come from peer-reviewed journals or the WHO and have been used worldwide for decades with solid reliability and validity evidence. Still, even the best instrument is a tool — not a substitute for professional judgement.
All scales on this site are widely used self-report instruments for self-understanding and screening only — they cannot replace a professional diagnosis. If you need help, please consult a doctor or therapist.
